Impact of global warming on heating and cooling degree days in major Indian cities

Global warming induced rise in ambient temperatures would significantly impact the space heating and cooling (H/C) energy requirements buildings. This investigation assessed of global on H/C eight major Indian cities covering all county’s climate zones. By using historical weather records general circulation model outputs, we quantified (1969–2017) future (2018–2100) trends annual mean together with degree days (HDDs CDDs), which are well-known metrics for quantifying buildings’ requirements.
